2022 Grant Recipients

·         Hood Huggers International: Partial funding to install solar panels on a community garden greenhouse, including teaching carpentry skills to young people in the Burton Street neighborhood.

·         Street Creature Puppet Collective: Partial funding to create a video that GreenWorks will use to educate gardeners on how their gardens can be certified as a Pollinator Gardens.

·         Friends of Hominy Creek Greenway: Expand the Transcultural Medicine Wheel Pollinator Garden on the greenway, adding a rain barrel to help with watering chores.

·         Erik Iverson: Expand & improve the Little Free Garden Stand on Blue Ridge Avenue where neighbors find & exchange a wide array of things both beautiful & practical for homes & gardens.

·         F.E.A.S.T. (a Bountiful Cities program): Restore the Hall Fletcher Elementary School community garden by clearing invasives, planting perennials, improving signage, purchasing tools for kids to use, & enlisting more neighbors to get involved.

·         Paul Dixon & Willie Paxton: Restore part of the city’s tree canopy by replanting lost & dying West Asheville neighborhood trees.
